The Value of Supporting Career Progression:

The Value of Supporting Career Progression:

How important is career progression to you? Do you value businesses that encourage advances within careers? If you wanted a certain qualification, would you expect your company to support this financially? If career progression is something that you value, then we are already on the same page so you will love reading about our success stories within the firm…

Let us introduce you to two of our Chartered Surveyors, Adam Crawfurd-Porter and Harriet Falshaw. Adam started his journey with FSS Property back in February 2013 when he undertook a week's work experience whilst in his final year at St Aidan's school in Harrogate. An 'office junior' position came available and, having enjoyed his time during work experience so much, he was offered a full time job in July 2013. He began working on reception, learning the ropes and getting a true feel for the firms ethos and to experience the 5 disciplines FSS specialise in. When learning about the business, Adam took a particular interest in the burgeoning commercial property and surveying arm of FSS. We were happy to support his learning process and paid for his tuition fees during the four year process to becoming a Chartered Surveyor whilst he worked and learned skills during his working hours.

Harriet, having studied real estate at Oxford Brooks University, always knew that property was something she was passionate about. Before joining FSS, Harriet had worked for another local agent within the infrastructure and energy area of the business. Whilst with her previous employer, Harriet sat her chartered surveyors exam in May 2021 and unfortunately didn’t pass. She then decided it was time for a change, so we gave Harriet a job here and ensured that she received the correct tuition and coaching to make sure she passed her final interview with the RICS. The interview took place in June and she passed with flying colours. Harriet said “FSS have been extremely helpful and supportive to enable me to pass my chartered surveyors exam, I couldn’t have done it without them.”

Here at FSS we are devoted to promoting our staff to achieve qualifications and keep them striving for further development throughout their careers. Many congratulations to both, who have shown true dedication to their studies and now they can enjoy the fruits of their labour. Please contact FSS for a qualified opinion on your property, whether Commercial or Residential on 01423 501211 or info@fssproperty.co.uk.
