The FSS Team Are Taking On the Yorkshire Three Peaks.
On Saturday 18th July, a group of the FSS team will be lacing up their boots and taking on one of the UK's most iconic walking challenges: the Yorkshire Three Peaks.
What is the Yorkshire Three Peaks?
The Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge involves climbing the three highest peaks in the Yorkshire Dales - Pen-y-ghent, Whernside, and Ingleborough - in a single day. That's 24 miles and over 1,500 metres of ascent, all completed on foot. It's a serious physical challenge, but one that comes with stunning scenery, a great sense of achievement, and in our case, a very good reason to keep putting one foot in front of the other.
Why We're Doing It
We wanted to do something that pushed us outside our comfort zones while raising money for causes that genuinely matter. After much discussion, we settled on two charities that do incredible work right here in Yorkshire.
Candlelighters has been supporting children and families affected by childhood cancer for over 50 years. From funding world-class research to providing practical and emotional support to families going through the unimaginable, Candlelighters is a lifeline for so many across the region.
Dementia Forward is a Yorkshire-based charity providing specialist support, information, and advice to people living with dementia and their carers. With dementia affecting more and more families across the country, their work has never been more important.
Both charities rely heavily on fundraising to continue their vital work, and we're proud to be supporting them both.
How You Can Help
You don't have to climb a mountain to make a difference. Head to our JustGiving page and donate to whichever cause you'd like to support — or split your donation between both. Every penny goes directly to the charity of your choice.

We'll be sharing updates on the day, so follow along and cheer us on. If you see us on the fells looking slightly worse for wear, a kind word (and perhaps a snack) would be very gratefully received.
Wish us luck, we're going to need it.
