The pretty village of Follifoot is often described as one Harrogate’s most desirable villages thanks to its unique combination of rural tranquillity, picture postcard looks and excellent accessibility.
Perfect for commuting
Despite its peaceful setting, Follifoot is just a few miles from the spa town of Harrogate with its shops, restaurants and cafes, including the famous Bettys Café Tearooms. It is also within easy communting distance of the cities of York and Leeds which can be reached by car in about half an hour. For those travelling further afield, Pannal railway station is just 2 miles away, linking to national rail services from York and Leeds, and the A1 is a 15 minute drive. Let’s not forget the buses which stop in the village regularly every day en route between Wetherby and Harrogate.
A strong sense of community
There are very few English villages that can boast a shop, Post Office and pub these days but Follifoot is fortunate to be one of them. In fact, it has not one but two pubs - the Harewood Arms and Radcliffe Arms. There is also a thriving village hall, a cricket club, primary school and lots of community activities.
Yorkshire’s Golden Triangle
Follifoot lies within what is often referred to as the Golden Triangle, the sought after area between York, Leeds and Harrogate which enjoys beautiful countryside and excellent facilities. Its popularity is partly down to its rustic charm but it is also very much about its accessibility to some of Yorkshire’s most vibrant commercial and cultural centres. Leeds, Harrogate and York each have their own theatres and cinemas with Leeds also being home to the First Direct Arena. York’s Barbican is another popular live entertainment venue. Foodies can enjoy a good selection of Michelin Star restaurants and fine dining throughout the Golden Triangle.
