Our March auction saw the successful sale of a premium commercial property in the centre of Harrogate which exceeded the guide price by £25,000. Yorkshire House on East Parade is an elegant building of luxury offices which has planning permission for development into apartments. It generated significant interest ahead of auction day which was reflected in the sale price on the day.
Another success story in the March auction was a three bedroom home in Grewelthorpe in need of modernisation, which sold for almost double the guide price. The property was listed with a price circa £80,000 and, after some lively bidding, sold for £149,000.
These two properties are very different but demonstrate how the auction room can be an ideal way for vendors to achieve a good price and a quick sale.
