FSS Pink Ladies get ‘Pretty Muddy’ to fight cancer

A team of ‘Pink Ladies’ at FSS are in training for a new challenge to ‘climb all over cancer’…and get muddy in the process.

Seven staff members are joining forces to enter Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life Pretty Muddy.

It’s a fundraising event like no other and involves tackling a 5K muddy obstacle course.

The FSS Pink Ladies will be climbing and scrambling through all kinds of challenges from scaling an A frame to crawling under nets and through a mud pit.

It’s all to raise valuable funds to find new ways to treat cancer and save more lives.

This year’s event takes place at Ripley Castle, near Harrogate on Saturday 15 July 2017.

FSS Pink Ladies team member, Debbie Weightman-Brown said:

“This is a cause close to our hearts and we’re looking forward to the challenge and doing some great fundraising.

“The event isn’t competitive and it’s all about coming together, having fun and doing something really positive to help beat cancer.

“Entering as a team will make it all the more enjoyable as we’ll be able to encourage each other and keep going.

“We’re hoping people will make pledges and support us to raise money for life-saving cancer research.”
